Alison K Frazier's research interests include Machiavelli and trauma; humanist contributions to the liturgy; hexameral commentary; editions of Renaissance Saints' Lives (recently, Catherine of Siena); and the history of early printing. Her undergraduate courses include Premodern World History, Western Civilization (premodern); Italian Renaissance. Her graduate courses include the history of Medieval and Renaissance Continental Europe, especially intellectual, cultural and religious history, biblical exegesis, manuscripts, and printing.
In addition to a number of articles and book chapters, Dr. Frazier's publications include "Possible Lives: Authors and Saints in Renaissance Italy," which won the 2006 Gordon Prize from the Renaissance Society of America for the best book in Renaissance Studies. She is the editor of "The Saint Between Manuscript and Print, Italy 1400-1600" and the co-editor (with Patrick Nold) of "Essays in Renaissance Thought and Letters" (2015). Dr. Frazier also co-edited "Renaissance Studies in Honor of Joseph Connors" (2013). She is currently working on a new book, titled "The Death of Pietropaolo Boscoli: Religion & Politics in Machiavelli's Florence" (forthcoming 2017), as well as census of the hagiographic collection entitled Sanctuarium (Milan c. 1478).
