Rebecca Torres has worked in topics related to rural development and reduction of poverty in Latin America and in the Southern United States. Her research trajectory has focused on rural/community development and poverty reduction, with special emphases on migration, agricultural transformation and tourism in the context of globalization. Her research also includes migration, agricultural change, and touristic development in developing countries in the context of globalization.
